On October 1, 2005 Judy and Richard made a day trip from Camp ShiHam to
Penn State to watch our first Penn State football game in 4 years. In the past
we took our motor home and made a full weekend watching Penn State
defeat Big Ten rivals Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan and Purdue. We also saw
the Lions lose to Michigan in a full all day downpour of rain. On this perfect
October Saturday we watched in disbelief as the Lions drubbed the highly
ranked Minnesota Gophers 44-14. We were part of a crowd of over 106,000.
At times the noise shook the stadium.

We want a safety.
No safety on this day but three months later a Penn State safety gave
the Lions a triple overtime victory Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
